Stage 3

Grow in the real operation

Stage 3 is about improvement and career. Once you can run the process, the value you add is in making it faster, cheaper and safer — and in being able to prove it in an interview or an appraisal.

  1. 1

Measure a baseline before you change anything

Two weeks of honest data: count accuracy, receipt cycle time, picking errors, truck turnaround. An improvement without a baseline is an opinion.

  2. 2

    Run one small Kaizen

Choose a single irritation — a bin without a label, a form filled twice, a truck waiting for paperwork. Fix it, standardise it, and record the before/after. Small and finished beats large and pending.

  3. 3

    Free the working capital

Ageing review, non-moving disposal plan, MOQ renegotiation, min/max re-setting. This is the work that gets a supply chain person noticed by finance.

  4. 4

    Build your interview evidence

Three stories in STAR format from your own work, each with the process, the action and a measurable movement. Add your completion certificate and your workbook outputs as proof of study.

You are ready for the next stage when

  • I have a documented before/after for at least one improvement.
  • I can present my numbers and explain how they were measured.
  • I have three interview stories with a real action and a real result.
  • I finished the free course modules and passed the final exam.

You can show a hiring manager evidence, not adjectives.
